National Doctor's Day Celebration - 2023

Podar International School, CISCE #Bengaluru observed National Doctors’ Day to honor the profession of doctors and their contribution to the healthcare industry. The day is dedicated to all the doctors and healthcare workers who have been serving the people. A special assembly was conducted by the students of Grade VIII A. The Chief Guest Dr.Shalini Subramanian highlighted the significance of Doctor’s Day and the importance of being healthy and the simple ways to maintain good health for a happy life at the gathering through her motivating speech.

The Principal Mr.Ramesh Chandra Panda thanked the doctors who work tirelessly for society and remain on call 24/7 to ensure our good health and safety. The efforts of doctors must be applauded to inspire them and motivate them to tread pridefully on the path of service to society.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration - 2023

Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru celebrated ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ by holding a Special Assembly for the students of Grade VID. The celebrations began with a phenomenal devotional dance performance. They also sang and played flute on a devotional song followed by a speech on the significance and beauty of this festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. At last, a group dance performance added splendour to the entire assembly.

The sole purpose of the celebration was to let the students stay rooted in Indian culture and to enable them to understand the significance of this festival.

Our Principal Mr.Ramesh Chandra Panda applauded all the students for their performance and conveyed his best wishes to all the students, staff, and parents on this auspicious occasion of “Ganesh Chaturthi”.

Hindi diwas celebration - 2023
Hindi is a language of love, togetherness and brotherhood. With this thought Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru celebrated the Hindi Diwas on 14th September, 2023 with great pride and vigor. A special Assembly was conducted by students. Children from all the grades took part in dance, singing, and recitation of Doha. On this occasion, different activities and several competitions were also organized for all children. Principal Mr. Ramesh Chandra Panda appreciated all the students and teachers for their wholehearted participation in making the programme successful. He also appreciated all Hindi teachers for arranging this event. He extended his best wishes to all the children, teachers and parents.
The International Year of Millets - 2023
Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru. The Food and Agriculture Organization and United Nations has recognized 2023 as ‘The International Year of Millets’ for awareness about health and nutritional benefits of millets. As part of the campaign a special assembly was held by students of Grade VI D where they spoke about the importance and nutritional benefits of millets and watched videos on the same. Different activities and worksheets were conducted across the classes. The Principal addressed the children and advised them to bring millet based dishes in their tiffin on any one day of the week for the rest of the years to have healthy millet filled years.
Carnival 'Biz Kids Bazaar' - 2023

Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru showcased a wonderful theme-based Carnival on 9th September, Saturday. The Chief Guest Mr Surendranath, GM of Podar Karnataka Region, The Guest of Honour Mr Narayana Joisa and The Principal Mr Ramesh Chandra Panda inaugurated the event. It was a floor-based event where each floor was given different themes. The themes were based on different art forms of India. It was beautifully presented by the children showcasing various art form displays. The first floor had a musical presentation by talented students. The second floor displayed Mandala Art form with multiple displays of paintings, artifacts, selling of paintings prepared by children and games. The third floor had the theme, Gond Art. The floor was colourfully decorated with a suitable display of art forms, paintings etc. The fourth floor had the theme of Manjusha art. The floor had a vivid display of an array of Manjusha art forms. The fifth floor had a mixture of all the other three art forms with colourful displays related to each art form. Last but not least the sixth floor had a food court with multiple eateries which was enjoyed by the parents and students. Apart from this children presented dances also about different localities. Student Council members also had a beautiful display and presentation of the success of Chandrayaan 3.

On the whole, the event was a grand success with the support and continuous guidance of our Principal, Vice Principal, and leadership team, the dedication and hard work of all our teachers and children and the support of parents. Mr Ramesh ChandraPanda, our Principal appreciated all the teachers and students for the wonderful display and thanked parents for their continuous support. Each floor’s display was appreciated by the parents.

Teacher's Day Celebration - 2023

“It is the supreme duty of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression & knowledge.” Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru celebrated Teachers' Day on 05 September. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – the second President of India. A great academic philosopher, one of the most well-known diplomats, scholar, president of India and above all a teacher. On this occasion, students of grades 9 and 10 presented a cultural programme during the Assembly as a tribute to all the teachers. Students expressed their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers by wishing and felicitating. Principal appreciated their efforts and expressed his gratitude on behalf of all teachers. In his address he guided all children to respect their parents and teachers as these two are the pillars and instrumental in their success.

In the afternoon all the teachers had a brief programme. Teachers presented a cultural show. Principal Mr. Ramesh Chandra Panda administered oath to all teachers. He emphasized the role of teachers in shaping the character of children and making them better citizens. He reiterated all teachers to rededicate themselves to this noble profession. In his address to the teachers he emphasized to be compassionate and understanding and feeling the responsibility of making them better citizens and better human beings. As teachers, we must feel proud to be a part of this noble profession and take the lead in building the nation. He extended his best wishes to all teachers on this occasion of Teachers Day.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami Celebration - 2023
Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru. Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated on 7 September 2023, with great joy and full of fervour. A special assembly was held by students of Grade VI C. Students hosted traditional festivals and dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha. Students sang a devotional song followed by mesmerizing dance drama by the students and teacher. Our Principal Mr. Ramesh Chandra Panda addressed the gathering and conveyed greetings and wishes of the festivals. He lauded the commendable performances of the students and teachers.

Podar International School ICSE #Bengaluru celebrated Kabir Jayanthi on 4 Sep 2023 to pay tribute to the famous poet, saint and social reformer of India. A special assembly was held by students of Grade VI C where they spoke about Saint Kabir and presented his famous Dohas with their meanings. The Principal lauded the children for their presentation.
Onam and Rakshabandhan Celebration - 2023

Podar International School ICSE #Bengaluru celebrated Raksha Bandhan and Onam on the school premises. The celebrations started with attractive floral decorations (pookalam) in the reception area that were reminiscent of the agrarian past of Kerala.

A special assembly was conducted by the students of Grade VIB. The students delivered a speech on the significance of the festivals and presented the skit and songs. The main objective behind celebrating ‘Raksha Bandhan’ was to make the children aware of the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions. The main attraction of the Onam celebration was the Thiruvatira traditional group dance by the teachers.

Our Principal Mr. Ramesh Chandra Panda addressed the gathering and conveyed greetings and wishes of the festivals. He lauded the commendable performances of the staff and students, who took the initiative to organize the event and thanked everyone for a memorable one.

National Sports Day Celebration - 2023

Podar International School ICSE #Bengaluru celebrated National Sports Day today, 29 August 2023 to pay tribute to the legendary Hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, the Hockey Wizard of our country. The students were informed about the importance of ‘Sports’ and the relevance of National Sports Day through the speech, quiz, song and dance. The Chief Guest Mr. Lokesh, Ekalavya Awardee and National Medalist in Gymnastics, gave a motivational speech, in which he advised everyone to participate in the field of sports and also talked about the many benefits of doing sports activities.

On this occasion, various sports activities and inter-house competitions were organized where students from all four Houses participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. Children learnt a lot about true sportsmanship and the value of playing games.

Our Principal Mr. Ramesh Chandra Panda delivered the presidential address and spoke about the importance of observing such a day as well as congratulated the attempts of all those who organized the wonderful event and the students for their exceptional performances.

Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru celebrated the 76th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and respect. To commemorate the sovereignty of our Nation. The Chief Guest Honorary Flying Officer Mr N P Mahapatra and our honourable Principal Mr Ramesh Chandra Panda unfurled the flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. Colourful displays by students in the form of skits, songs and dances to rhythmic beats were breathtaking. Teachers who completed their 5 and 10 years of service at Podar were felicitated with the ‘Loyalty Certificate’ to emphasize the importance of education and the value of hard work.

Our Principal Mr.Ramesh Chandra Panda enlightened everyone with the importance of being united and exhorted the students to follow the ideals of the great people. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience freedom, peace and Unity in Diversity.

National Friendship Day - 2023

Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru celebrated ‘National Friendship Day’ by conducting a special assembly by the students of Grades 7A and 7B. Students participated in various activities, skits, songs and dances and there was so much excitement in the air when students danced and dedicated the lovely song.

Friendship is one of the purest relationships that helps children develop important life skills like getting along with other people and sorting out conflicts and problems. Being a part of a global society, it is important to foster friendships with different people regardless of race, religion, language and colour.

Our beloved principal Mr. Ramesh Chandra Panda conveyed the best wishes to our little stars and listed the importance and qualities that make a good friend and constructive interaction among the buddies.

International Tiger's Day Celebration - 2023
Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru celebrated International Tiger Day to raise awareness about the protection of tigers and their habitat as well. A special assembly was conducted by grade 8C and presented the PPT, skit and speech to focus on tiger conservation as it plays a very important role in protecting and maintaining a balanced ecosystem across its range. Our Principal Mr Ramesh Chandra Panda expounded on the initiative taken by the government to conserve tigers. Also said that it was our responsibility to conserve these big cats for us and our future generations.
Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration - 2023

Podar International School, ICSE #Bengaluru observed the Kargil Vijay Diwas today(26 July 2023) to commemorate the historic victory of India over Pakistan in the Kargil War in 1999. A special assembly was conducted by Grade 8C to give tribute to our brave soldiers. The children presented skits, dances and songs to celebrate our victory.

Our Principal Mr. Ramesh Chandra Panda emphasized the significance of the day and advised the children to respect the dedication and sacrifice made by our brave soldiers and also pay tribute to the real superheroes of India who lost their lives during the historic Kargil War. He lauded the efforts of children and teachers to make this programme successful.

Teacher's Workshop 'Implementing and Delivering outstanding lessons' - 2023

Podar International School, CISCE #Bengaluru organized a workshop on 22 July 2023(Saturday) for teacher enrichment on the topic “Implementing and delivering outstanding lessons”, conducted by Mr Sukesha Serigara. The Principal, Podar International School, Shivamogga.

This workshop was beautifully executed to bring together research and practice. This was a hands-on, thought-provoking program that inspired teachers; feeling much more influential with many practical exercises and actionable takeaways which can be applied immediately for effective teaching and learning. The workshop greatly expanded teachers’ understanding of mindfulness and gave them a great understanding of how it can be used and taught for the holistic development of students.

Our Principal Mr.Ramesh Chandra Panda conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the management and the host Mr.Sukesha Serigara for facilitating the teachers to enhance their teaching skills. Also appreciated and motivated the teachers for their active participation and eagerness to learn new things.

Student Council Virtual Interaction - 2023

Podar International School, ICSE, #Bengaluru.Virtual Student Council Meeting On the 15th of July, with the initiative of our Principal, Mr.Ramesh Chandra Panda, Podar International School, Bengaluru CISCE, and Podar International School, Nagpur Besa(Maharashtra) had a Virtual Student Council interaction session of the newly elected Council members of both the schools. Principal of PIS Nagpur Besa, Mr.S.N.Sahu, Vice Principal Ms.Shreesha Nair, Mr.Ganesh Ghate the Mathematics teacher, Principal of PIS Bengaluru, CISCE, Mr . Ramesh Chandra Panda, Vice Principal Ms. Indumathi, Secondary Coordinator Ms.Renu Pandey, Senior English teacher Ms.Seena Sajith and all the newly elected members of both the schools were part of the Virtual Council Meeting. The meeting was a wonderful platform for the students to give exposure to them and understand the working culture of the Council. Each member interacted with their counterparts. The members were exposed to the different committees that work in both schools, dispersal duty structure, maintaining discipline in school, house competitions, other competitions, assembly routine, duties and responsibilities entrusted to the members, etc. For the students, it was a great experience. This meeting was proposed by our Principal which was wholeheartedly accepted by Principal Nagpur Mr.S.N.Sahu. It was indeed a great experience for all of us.

“It's not faith in technology. It's faith in people.” by - Steve Jobs. Podar International School, CISCE #Bengaluru organized a culminating event ‘Tech O Mania’ on 30 June 2023. Tech it Up is a technology education program designed for children through Integrated English. It provides exposure to informational technologies with a hands-on approach in a fun and uplifting environment. Children presented their instil talents and skills by preparing working models and experiments.

The chief guest Mr Vasanth Pednekar educated the children on the advantages and disadvantages of technology and also encouraged the children to utilize the technology efficiently by using safety measurements.

The Principal Mr.Ramesh Chandra Panda appreciated the children and the teachers for their tremendous contribution and motivated them to design more innovative presentations.

Investiture Ceremony 2023-2024

Podar International School, CISCE #Bengaluru. The Investiture Ceremony 2023-24 successfully inducted the newly elected and selected members of the school’s prefectorial board on 24 June 2023 to encourage and kindle leadership qualities in our young prodigies. The ceremony started by lighting the lamp followed by a welcome song. The Newly formed Council and Prefects were honored by our respected principal, Mr.Ramesh Chandra Panda along with the Chief Guest, Flight Lieutenant BL Kumawat, who served the nation for 39 years.

The Principal Mr.Ramesh Chandra Panda administered the oath of allegiance to the newly appointed Board of Students’ Council, who swore to serve their Alma Mater with utmost sincerity and to the best of their abilities. The zeal of the council was reflected in their confidence and dedication to execute their work. The ceremony concluded with the energetic fusion dance related to leadership presented by the students of Grade IX, which spellbound the audience and enhanced the vibrance of the event.

International Yoga Day - 2023

Podar International School, CISCE #Bengaluru celebrated international Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. Students from grade I to grade X demonstrated various asanas of Yoga. Warm-up exercises were taken and all the students performed sitting and standing asanas, the importance of asanas was explained simultaneously. The Chief Guest Dr. Priya Ganesh conveyed the message that the regular practice of yoga will surely help students by increasing their concentration, and help them lead a better life, physically, mentally, and spiritually as well.

The celebration concluded with a speech by our Principal Mr. Ramesh Chandra Panda. He encouraged students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration to remain healthy and fit and achieve holistic growth. He appreciated the enthusiastic spirit of the children and also the teachers for organizing.

World Anti-Child Labour Day - 2023

Aiming to spread awareness about child labour through skit, speech and slogans by the students of Grade IX A. It is an international day to raise awareness and prompt action to stop child labour in all of its forms. The Principal Mr.Ramesh Chandra Panda tried to raise awareness among children about the reason and the seriousness of child labour and its effects on society. Also conveyed the message that one should not forget that poverty is the primary reason for child labour. Let us all join hands to fight poverty and bring happiness to the lives of young children.

It started with the declaration of elections by the Principal on 05 June 2023. Elections were conducted on 17 June 2023 and results were declared on 20 June. The whole process was completed in a democratic manner. The participants nominated themselves to different positions and propagated in their favour. The children from Grade 6 to 10 voted for their favourite candidate through a secret ballot system. Students enthusiastically participated in the student council election by choosing the candidates of their choice. Finally, the most awaited results were announced by the Principal Mr. Ramesh Chandra Panda. He congratulated all the winners and also all the participants for their true spirit of participation. He also thanked all the staff for successfully conducting this election process.

Podar International School,ICSE #Bengaluru conducted the special assembly on ‘World No Tobacco Day’ by students of Grade X. Students presented the placards and wrote notes on ‘Hazards of Tobacco’. Practical Life Skills - 2020
Podar International School, Bengaluru ICSE organized Practical Life Skills sessions for Grade 1 to 9. This is the third year in a row that these sessions are being conducted. Children were informed in advance to bring the materials required for the specific activity wherever required. These practical sessions are aimed at making the students self-reliant for the day-to-day basic needs. Respective teachers imparted age-appropriate sessions in the classrooms, laboratories or inside the school premises. Students had hands-on experience in acquiring most of the skills. They were all excited to learn and master the new skills. Some of the activities include: making lemon juice, book/gift wrapping, changing bed linen, making a quick snack, removing stains from clothes, table etiquette, changing batteries of a clock and setting time, basic first-aid, some basic stitches, ironing clothes, changing bulb/tube light, packing suitcase, etc. The teachers conducted the session with a lot of enthusiasm and the students enjoyed each and every activity making it a very successful event.
Madhuvana – Picnic for students of Grades VI to VIII - 2020
Podar International School, Bengaluru ICSE organized a picnic to ‘Madhuvana’-The village experience for the students of Grade VI to VIII .Several activities such as Tug of War, climbing tree house, lake view, completing the maze, walking on rope, kept students engaged throughout the picnic. Students also witnessed the making of pots, channapatna toys, which helped students to inculcate some values such as hard work, patience, commitment etc. among themselves.in the afternoon session students enjoyed Rain Dance with music. They played in artificial waterfalls too. At the end, the host showcased traditional dance forms of Karnataka. Delicious breakfast, lunch and snacks were served to the students. The whole trip was adventurous, enjoyable and educational.
Grade VIII Field Trip to Biocentre - 2020
Podar International School Bengaluru ICSE organized a field trip to The Biocentre, Hulimavu for the students of Grade-VIII. The students were exposed to the various features of the Biocentre through a video. The session was conducted by Ms.Rukhmini.Ms.Chandrakala explained in detail about tissue culture, mushroom cultivation, green house plant propagation, bio-fertilizers, etc. Grafting was demonstrated to the students. Students could explore a wide variety of medicinal plants. The students really enjoyed the trip which was a value addition for them.
Grade V to VII - Field Trip To the Museum - 2020
Students from Grade- 5,6 and 7 visited Sir M.Visweswaraiah Museum. Students experienced working of many machine models, like lever, wheel and axle engines, ball pen, zip etc.They also learnt about satellites, their weight on different planets, electric current and electric appliances. Students also enjoyed visiting the mirror maze and taking part in other science activities. The whole trip was totally educative and enjoyable for the students.

A field trip to Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Cubbon Park, Bengaluru was organized for the students of Grade-2,3 and 4.The Jawahar Bal Bhaavan is situated at the entrance of a cubbon park and is a small beautiful park exclusively meant for the children. Here the students played and watched the toy train rides, dancing stage, dragon train etc. The students spent time in various physical activities and also observed the national bird, flower, tree, different types of plants, animals, flowers, insects etc. They enjoyed a wonderful nature walk. It was an enjoyable day indeed.
Grade I - Field Trip to Butterfly Park - 2020
A field trip to Butterfly Park was organized for Grade-1 students on 10th February 2020. Students spotted many colorful live butterflies such as Lime Butterfly, Jailed Butterfly, Common Rose, Common Mormon, etc. Children were excited to see Giant Butterfly, caterpillar, and insect sculptures. Students felt adventurous to walk on the hanging bridge. They had a wonderful time at the park. With a lot of interest, they heard and learned about, how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. It was a fun-filled visit.
Medical Health Check Up Camp - 2020
A Medical Health Check-up Camp was organized for the students of Grades 1 to 8. A team of dedicated doctors from Fortis Hospital conducted the camp which included General Physical examination, Dental Check-up and Eye & Ear check-up. Necessary medical advice and precautionary measured were given to all the students.
Republic Day Celebrations - 2020

The Farewell for the classes X and II PUC was held on 25th January 2020. Carnival 'Star Dust' - 2019

The school-wide theme ‘Space Troopers’ culminated with an event - the carnival ‘STARDUST: To Infinity and Beyond’, organized by the students and staff members of the Podar International School Bengaluru ICSE within the school premises. This event’s objective was to provide opportunities to the students to showcase knowledge on space. It was a platform for sharing the experiences they have had during the course of the module. The carnival was inaugurated by Dr.C.S Shastry a renowned research scholar. They had a chance to discover the solar system, the planets and the galaxies that comprises of the universe.

The e-voting system was used to conduct the elections. International Yoga Day - 2019
The International Yoga day celebrations at Podar International commenced with the chanting of shlokas celebrating the importance of consonance between the mind and body. Yoga is a discipline that leads to the communion of mind and body, imparting physical flexibility and mental tenacity. This was followed by the display of various yoga asanas by the students, under the guidance of the physical instructors. Parent Orientation 2019-2020
We believe that the parents play an integral part in the school life of a child. In order to involve the parents and brief them about their role in their ward’s schooling and the education system at PIS, Bengaluru, an Orientation Programme was conducted for them on 25th May 2019. The teaching faculty were also introduced to the parents during this orientation.
Hindustan Scouts and Guides Camp - 2019
As an introductory program, the Hindustan Scouts and Guides conducted a non-residential camp for students of Grades I to IX. The students were completely engaged with a variety of activities like tent pitching, cooking without fire, dance drills etc. They also learnt a variety of claps. Students of Grades I to IV were inducted as Cubs and Bulbuls and V to X as Scouts and Guides during the valedictory program held on 4th April. The parents of the participating students were witness to the valedictory event.
Model United Nations (MUN) - 2019

Model United Nations is an educational simulation in which the students learn about diplomacy, international relations and the UN. It is an extra-curricular activity in which the students typically role play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN Committees. The PIS-MUN aims to create awareness among our students on the organizations world-wide work towards peaceful global relations and taking up ‘pressing issues’ for the betterment of mankind. Participation in such events also helps to develop student skill set and interest in global agendas. Students learnt immensely about the functioning of the United Nations, the protocols in its meetings and so on.

The culminating event of the PIS-MUN at PIS, Bengaluru (ICSE) was conducted on the 19th of January 2019. Students were encouraged by appreciating their efforts during the award ceremony. All teams gave their best to make the event a grand success. 3 D Printing Showcase – 15th December 2018

Podar International School Bangalore (ICSE) hosted the 3D Printing Showcase for Karnataka Hub Schools on 15 Dec. 2018. Mr. Ankit Jain, Deputy General Manager – ICT, Podar Education Network, Ms. Jaya Prakash and Ms. Tanaya Deshpande, members, PIC, came to oversee the event and select the best presentations.

Sports Day Celebration 2018-2019
The Annual Sports Meet, KreedaUtsav 2018, was held at the PIS ground on Saturday, 1st December and the chief guest at the event was none other than the legendary cricketer, Padmashri SMH Kirmani. Beginning with the lighting of the torch and releasing of the balloons, the day saw the March past by students of the Sceondary section, the drills by students of the primary, Karate and Aerobics displays by the respective students, before leading onto the final sprints events and the 400m house-wise relay. Witnessing the display of fairplay, teamspirit and sportsmanship by students, it was a memorable for both, the participants and the audiences alike.
Annual Day Celebration 'Secondary Section' 2018-2019
The Secondary School Annual Day was strung together around the theme of ‘Being Humane’ and held on the 24thNovember 2018 with Justice Santosh Hegde (Retd) as the Chief Guest who addressed the parents with an inspiring motivational speech. The play emphasized on the aspect of being kind and compassionate, of being the reason for someone else to believe in goodness. It stressed on the need to be sensitive and compassionate to the pain and problems of others, and care for such people by helping them. The play also threw light upon how children and adults can bring about a change in their lives and make a difference in the lives of others.
Annual Day Celebration 'Primary Section' 2018-2019
The Primary School Annual Day was woven around the theme of ‘Navarasa’ and held on the 23rd November 2018 with Shri M Chandrashekhar, Inspector General of Police as the Chief Guest. The play revolved around the idea that life can be thought of as a continuous sequence of emotions that arise in various contexts and circumstances. These emotions or rasas, tend to colour our life in different hues, shades and textures.
