Podar International School Shirur conducted a revision test for the students of grades I to IX. It was a test to check the content of the students and how much they were preparing for the Yearly Exam.
To discuss the result of the test, Open House was conducted after school hours. The teachers discussed and explained the student's progress and areas of improvement with the parents.
The Respected Principal, Mr. Neeraj Rai sir appreciated the students' efforts and guided them to prepare for the exam, time management and reduce stress and anxiety. Sir also gave the best wishes for the Yearly Exam.
The Prize distribution ceremony was held at Podar International School Shirur to felicitate the students who brought laurels and accolades for the school by winning medals in International Science Olympiad (ISO), International Maths Olympiad (IMO) and International English Olympiad (IEO) 2023-24 conducted by Silver zone Olympiad Foundation.
Our students have proved that hard work and dedication ultimately lead to success and there is no short-cut. They are an inspiration for all. Therefore we heartily congratulate all the prize winners of Silver Zone Olympiad.

Central Board and Secondary Education (CBSE) organized a session on Financial Literacy and the Use of Digital Tools at Podar International School Shirur under the guidance of Hemant Bhagwat sir on 28th February 2024.
The session commenced with the lighting of the lamp. The Respected Principal sir welcomed the esteemed guest and requested sir to guide for the same.
Mr. Hemant Bhagwat sir started the session by asking some questions about financial planning. Sir also guided teachers on various topics such as:
- Financial planning is the key to achieving goals including retirement.
- Regular investing through SIP is the ideal way to secure retirement.
- Protect your life and health through insurance.
- Use digital payment smartly but be watchful of frauds.
- Raising grievances through a proper process will help you in getting redressal to your satisfaction.
Our Respected Principal sir, Mr. Neeraj Rai thanked the resource person, Mr. Hemant Bhagwat sir for the informative session and brought awareness about financial literacy.
Every year, 27th February is celebrated as Marathi Language Day in Maharashtra and Goa states in India, known as ‘Marathi Raj Bhasha Din’. It is celebrated on the birthday of the eminent Marathi Poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, to recognize and honour the greatness of Marathi literature.
Students of grade IV started the assembly with the auspicious Marathi prayers and songs.
Students dressed up in traditional Maharashtrian costumes. They presented a drama based on Marathi Literature. Our students came to know the vast scope of the Marathi language in the form of stories, novels, autobiographies, biographies, travelogues, poems and songs. Students came in the attire of various Marathi saints and introduced themselves to the assembly.
Teachers and students of PIS Shirur left no stone unturned while celebrating Marathi Bhasha Diwas. They also explained the importance of the Marathi language and sang Marathi poems that were highly appreciated by the students.
The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir appreciated for their fluency in Marathi and their wonderful performances put up. It was indeed a colorful and joyous celebration of Marathi Diwas!
A science exhibition is an interface of science and society and it contributes towards creating awareness about science as well as creating enthusiasm in students.
A Science Exhibition was organized on 24th February 2024 at Podar International School Shirur. It was a resounding success, filled with enthusiasm and zest from students in grades I to IX. The objective was not only to inculcate a scientific attitude and research-mindedness but also to enhance student’s interest in science and technology.
The students showcased their scientific skills by representing the models based on mechanics, optics, electromagnetism and thermodynamics.
The main attractions of the Day were the Scientific Rangoli made by the students of grades VI to IX and magic tricks and games. All the parents were enthralled to see the young Podarities as emerging young scientists.
On the occasion of Science Day Plantation programme was arranged by the Science Department to spread the message "Plant a tree and save a life".
It was truly a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and scientific exploration among the students.
We appreciate all Science teachers all parents for supporting and motivating students to participate in this Science exhibition.
The Earth Sight Foundation conducted the first-ever workshop called "Space for Everyone " at Dnyanganha Jr. College, Shirur on 17th February 2024.
Dr. Shirish Ravan ji, Founder of Earthsight Foundation, former officer of United Nations, ISRO, and C-DAC. was the resource person, including Mr. Advait Kulkarni, and Mr. Yuvraj Joshi made students understand space and the world beyond our Earth.
We are happy to share with you that the students of grades VIII and IX of Podar International School Shirur overwhelmingly participated in this workshop and learned various concepts about space.
The workshop aimed to understand the satellites- how they work, and help us in our everyday lives. How they are an integral part of our daily life and how can we locate the places using satellite? Students also understood how satellite images can be used to visit various places just by sitting at home.

An artist is a dreamer consenting to dream of the actual world. Every child is an artist. Art speaks where words are unable to be explained. Keeping this in mind, an Art exhibition was organized at Podar International School Shirur on 17th February 2024 to give wings to every child's creative instincts!
The exhibition was inaugurated with the lighting of a lamp by the Chief Guest Sanjay Pathade (president of Ahmedabad District Art Teachers Association). The youngest artists of our school with a lot of creative ideas, hard work, intellectual skills, sincerity and dedicated participation portrayed their talents. Students displayed 3D woven wonder, Pixel and paperwork, sculpting pages, rotating imagery, flowers, different faces etc.
Our students were fully prepared for the exhibition from making arts and crafts things to decorating classes. They confidently interacted with parents and shared information about their work. Through this exhibition, students learned presentation skills, group work and gained confidence and motivation.
The chief guest congratulated students and their teachers for the successful event and motivated them to keep up the good work. Parents appreciated the exhibition. They admired the creative work exhibited by the students and suggested organizing such exhibitions in the future.

Under the Podar Voluntary Programme the students of Podar International School Shirur experienced a very serious and compassionate life pattern when they visited the innocent children in "Maher Orphanage".
We met Mr. Shilanand Ambure who welcomed us and led us to the main hall. Sir also interacted with students and briefed them about the ashram. Daily useable items were given to innocent lives. The children were elated when they received the stationery from us.
Orphanages are an important part of our society as they give children the kind of upbringing they need regardless of their family situation. We bid them farewell with a promise of visiting them once again.
Shiv Jayanti reminds us of the courageous act of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj which inspires the coming generation forever to show their courage to the nation.
Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti was celebrated in Podar International School Shirur on 17th February 2024 in a special assembly under the guidance of our teachers and Respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir.
The celebration started with the lighting of the lamp followed by the Pooja of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with mesmerizing Shiv garjana by our students.
Students with great zeal and enthusiasm participated in the attire of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Jijaua, Tanaji, Maule and many others. Shiv Janmotsav was celebrated with the fullest zeal along with the oath taken by Shivaji Maharaj for Swarajya.
Yugandhar Waghmare sang a powada on the velour and bravery of Shivaji Maharaj while other students performed the events described like the court scene of Begam, the meeting with the Afzalkhan and the siege of Panhala.
The main attraction of the programme was Shivaji Maharaj Rajyahishek. Our students played the roles of Shivaji Maharaj, Maa Jijau and Mawle marched towards the stage welcoming them by playing lazim was an unforgettable moment.
Mr. Neeraj Rai sir, Principal of the school reminded our students about Shivaji Maharaj, his bravery and life and the lessons to be learned from Shivaji Maharaj's life.

Radio is a medium that has remained popular for a long time. It's a platform where we can get information from across the globe, educate the masses, express ourselves across cultures, and of course! listen to our favourite music. To commemorate the journey of Radio over decades, Podar International School Shirur conducted a special assembly on ‘World Radio Day’ on 13th February 2024 with a flurry of events.
The students of grade VIII- Einstein pretended to be radio hosts and chatted, and discussed topics that they believed such as the Independence Day, the 1965 Indo-Pak War, the World Cup Cricket Match etc.
Nowadays radio is not having as much importance as it was there in earlier times. It was the one source for people to know the news and information of their surroundings said by the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir.
The assembly concluded with an understanding that radio is the sole broadcast medium that continues to entertain us.

Farewell of Grade X marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. It's a time to cherish memories, celebrate achievements, and embrace the future with optimism. Podar International School Shirur bid adieu to its beloved class X students on 10th February 2024, in a heart warming farewell ceremony.
The atmosphere brimmed with joy and nostalgia as class IX students showcased their talents through dance performances, Physics-based games and a delightful school skit, depicting the journey and memories of class X.
In a poignant moment, the cake was cut, signifying the illumination of their path ahead. Each student was honoured with a school sash, by giving a small gift as a token of love and blessings from teachers encapsulated in farewell cards.
The Respected Principal Neeraj Rai sir guided students by saying that you should always be positive in your life. Whatever challenge life will throw in front of you, don't complain, accept the challenge and move ahead. The ceremony culminated in a shared meal, fostering camaraderie and cherished memories.
Regular hand washing is one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick, and prevent the spread of germs. In light of the same and to acquaint children with the significance of keeping their hands germ-free, Podar International School Shirur conducted an engaging "Hand Washing" activity.
The session included the techniques and seven steps of hand washing to maintain proper hygiene. The activity encouraged students to promote good habits to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
The children enjoyed the activity and also learned the importance of handwashing for a healthy life.
Parent-teacher relationships play a vital role when it comes to student success. By working together, parents and teachers can create an encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to reach their goals.
Podar Parents Cricket League is one of such steps taken by us to develop a healthy bond between the parents and school.
Podar International School Shirur organized the cricket tournament. The Parents played very well and had strong enthusiasm. It was interesting to see all the parents performing well in sports, at the same hand.
More than 180 parents registered for the PPPL matches. The players were divided into different teams.
The Female-parents team- "Podar Angel", the Male-parents team- "Podar Giant" won the final match and the team of PIS Shirur teachers was the Runner Up.
The matches were a true spectacle, featuring magnificent cricketing shots, breathtaking catches, unwavering team spirit and an enthusiastic audience that added excitement.
Making children realize their hidden talents and dreams has always been the focus at Podar International School Shirur. A platform to put the same in writing was provided as the Jumpstart Event.
These activities come as a surprise to the students preparing them for the upcoming theme.
Grades 1 and 2 chose what they would want to be, under ' I want to be next ' out of celebrities from distinct fields such as Business, Sports etc.
Grades 3 and 4 realized what they are good at by writing it on a piece of paper.
The activity thus conducted raised the curiosity levels of students as they look forward to other events with this theme. Overall the activity was fully enjoyed by each and every student.
The Principal, Admin Officer and Staff of Podar International School, Shirur organized a Potluck Lunch party. They prepared varieties of traditional food and shared them with all.
The main purpose of a potluck is for teachers and staff to come together and share a meal, with each person or family bringing a dish to contribute to the overall meal. It is also a way to have a get-together share dining experiences and showcase their culinary skills. Such events bring the teachers together, build healthy relations and boast teamwork among them.
It fosters a positive and inclusive atmosphere, fostering a sense of community within the school. It's moments that made our school environment truly special. The day was enjoyed enthusiastically and energetically by everyone.

We are thrilled to share you that Hima Das (Golden Girl- Renowned Athlete) graced our school for Annual Sports Day Prayas. Her presence added immense inspiration to the Sports Day event and excitement for our PIS Shirur.
Hima Das ma'am had a friendly discussion with students, motivated and guided them for playing and talked about sports. Our students were inspired by her achievements. Her motivation to the students made the sports Day PRAYAS truly memorable.
We hope her experience and inspiration would definitely helpful to our young athletes to strive for greatness.

The most awaited Annual Sports Day was held with great zeal and enthusiasm at Podar International School Shirur on 20th January 2024. It was held in the playground of our school. Students celebrated its Annual Sports Day, amidst great mirth, verve, and camaraderie.
Honorable Mr. Dadasaheb Udmale was the Chief Guest of the Opening Ceremony of our Annual Sports Day. The sports day began with lamp lightning by respected dignitaries followed by school welcome song by choir group. The main attraction of the programme was the Guest of honour, Hima Das (Bhing Express) visited our school's Annual Day.
Students of Primary and secondary grades performed a dance to show their excitement & sportsmanship for sports day followed by felicitation of chief guest by our Respected Principal sir.
After this there was March past by students of Secondary section. Starting off with lots of blazing cheers, the students eagerly participated in various events 50 Metre-race, Hurdle Race, Pick the Ball Race, Basket ball race, Hula Hoop race, sack race, 100 Metre-Relay race. It was an event that gave them a chance to display their team spirit.
Then Our chief guest Honorable Mr. Dadasaheb shared his valuable words with us. Sports can develop multiple qualities like a sense of togetherness, leadership skills, stamina, planning, patriotism and teamwork. Sports department, specially Mr. Pravin Patil sir, Mrs. Rupali Bhogawade ma'am, leadership team and all the teachers put the best efforts to make the programme successful.
The winners were awarded with medals and trophies given by Honorable Chief guest, Mr. Dadasaheb Udmale, and Respected Principal sir. The programme ended with the vote of thanks given by Meet Singhvi.

Makar Sankranti is a harvest festival which is celebrated in almost all parts of India. This festival marks the transition of Sun into the Makara Rashi which is a zodiac sign. It is also believed that it marks the spring of India which is a traditional event.
On this auspicious day, a special assembly was conducted at PIS Shirur. A wonderful skit written by 6th was presented enthusiastically in the assembly. Students of grade VI- Einstein, Ananya Sale, Riddhi Nahar, Krupa Pardesh, Adarshni Rai, Saiesha Wakhare, Mahashree puri Goswami, Vaibhavi Gaikwad performed various ways of celebrating Makar Sankranti in different states of our country through the skit.
The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir addressed the assembly, spoke about the importance of festivals in our life and extended warm wishes of Makar Sankranti to all.
To build connections and foster team integrity, "Connect Circle" was conducted by Ms. Shreya Das ( Counselor In charge of Pump Hub-2) at Podar International School Shirur on 16th January 2024.
Podar International School gives the opportunity to conduct these sessions under the program of "Connect Circle" where teachers experience the transformative power of inspiring Sessions like Musical Artwork Session (Round Rabin Round), which bring teachers together, encouraging collaborative efforts to craft a unique piece of art, exemplifying the strength of unity and creativity within the teaching community.

Field trip is an important way for students to make connections between the classroom and the real world. Furthermore, it helps deepen their learning experience across the subject areas. Podar International School Shirur organized a field trip for grades V to IX to Magic Mountain at Lonavala.
The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir informed students about the importance of such trips in their lives and also instructed the students to have a safe and sound trip.
The students thoroughly enjoyed different rides such as Space Trainer, Sky Screamer, Delta Hoppla, Super Splash, Giant Frisbee, Rush Hour, Top Spin, Megha Disco and many more. Breakfast and lunch were also served to the students. Not only the kids but also the teachers enjoyed themselves.
The engagement and enthusiasm displayed by students were truly commendable, and this trip will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on their education.

Podar International School Shirur conducted an Open House for grades I to IX on 6th, January 2024. The main purpose of the meeting was to create a common platform, where teachers and parents come together to enrich the student’s educational experiences and to discuss the Individualized Education Program.
Parents interacted with the respective teachers and discussed their progress and overall development of their wards. They also appreciated the efforts of the teachers towards teaching and making the learning methodology feasible for the students.
The Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir also had a fruitful interaction with the parents and cleared their queries.
Podar International School Shirur organized a book fair in association with "Book Space" on 6th January 2024. Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir inaugurated the book fair. It was organized to inculcate reading habits among the students.
A wide range of books for different age groups was brought for selling such as kids' story books, novels, drama, arts and crafts, comics, motivational books, career guidance?? and many other forms of books attracted the attention of everyone.
A large number of students, parents, other book lovers and staff members enjoyed the fair and purchased a variety of books.
It was a wonderful experience for the children and parents who visited the fair. The programme was appreciated by everybody.

We also appreciated teachers for their efforts in various areas such as Voice recording merging effects, Annual Day Report, PowerPoint Presentation and Incharge Ship in choreography.
The celebration ended with the motivational words of the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir and congratulated all the achievers for their leadership and hard work.
Christmas is the festival that inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Christmas celebration was held at PIS Shirur on 22nd December 2023. The School was beautifully decorated and everybody was dressed in red and white. The entire school campus looked vibrant and festive with all the Christmas decor.
The students of grade I danced to the melodious tunes of ‘Jingle Bells’ and wished Merry Christmas to each other.
The children sang various Christmas Carols. Students presented a skit on the birth of Jesus Christ.
The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children. It was truly a joyous day for everyone.
The Respected Principal sir explained to students the importance of Christmas, and its historical background and guided them spiritually by giving them the need for God's blessings in our day-to-day life.

Lastly, a Cube solving competition was organised for the students of the Primary and Secondary Sections. In continuation of the celebration, every class in the school did one Math activity in their respective classes.

Under the Podar Volunteer Programme, Podar International School Shirur organised a visit to The Mother Global Foundation's Manshanti Chatralaya on 22nd December 2023.
The school took up the initiative of spreading joy, love and happiness by donating things such as books, stationery, daily essentials, etc.
They packed warmth of love for the needy and brought smiles to the faces of the deprived and needy.
Our Coordinator Mr. Roshan Kalambarkar sir explained to Manshanti Chatralaya-Orphanage staff and children that, At Podar School under the initiative of the Podar Volunteer Programme - Joy of Giving. We create and inculcate values among the students like sharing and caring, donating the things.
Also, Kind and welcoming gestures by the students and staff of Chatralaya their discipline, cleanliness and hygiene, self-prepared daily routine were appreciated by our Podar teachers.

Akhil Bharti Raj Bhasha Hindi examination was held by Mahatma Gandhi Raj Bhasha Prachar Sanstha Pune, in which 64 students of grades I to X from Podar International School, Shirur participated.

Podar International School Shirur celebrated Annual Day on 8th December 2023 under the theme "Krishna Kathayein". The students of grades I to X joyfully participated in the most awaited celebration of the year.
The programme commenced with lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Mr. Kakasaheb Mohite sir (Principal of City Bora College) and other dignitaries, Mr. Manoj Kale sir (General Managar of Podar Educational Network), Mr. Bipin Mahajan sir (HR), Mr Ajay Ghorpade sir (Principal of Chalisgaon PIS), Mr. Mangesh Jagtap sir (Principal of Ahmednagar PIS), followed by Welcome Song and Welcome Dance.
Under the guidance of the Respected Principal, Neeraj Rai sir, the Annual Report of the school was presented where the achievements of the school in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas was highlighted.
The audience witnessed different roles of Lord Krishna through dramas and songs. Each performance was unique and special which gave footprint on Lord Krishna's life.
The students who had shown outstanding performance in academics and discipline were honoured by giving away the Trophies. Best Teachers of the year from primary and secondary sections were also felicitated to recognize their contribution and service.

The programme culminated with vote of thanks proposed by our school Coordinator Mrs. Swati Mamidanna ma'am followed by Vande Mataram.??A mock exercise and evacuation drill was conducted on 24th November 2023 at Podar International School, Shirur to educate and train the students for an unforeseen emergency like a fire.
The evacuation drill aimed to acquaint the students with the safety measures that are to be taken in case of a fire emergency in school.
At the sound of the hooter, the students and their respective teachers deftly proceeded toward the exit gates and assembled at the designated spots on the school ground. A quick headcount was done by the class teachers.

Biz Kids Bazaar (Diwali Mela) was organised to celebrate the joyous festival of Diwali at Podar International School, Shirur.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Mr. Siddharth Chabukswar sir. Respected sir appreciated the school for arranging such a wonderful programme and making the platform available for students to learn marketing from schooling life. Thematic Learning is a way of teaching and learning, whereby different subjects are connected and integrated within a theme. Thematic learning replaces the regular curriculum for the four weeks of the unit. Students presented the songs that they had been practicing in the Music session. They also performed the dance in groups on "Let's get ready", which amazed everyone. The students performed the role plays on different seasons and types of clothes.

To emphasize the significance of celebrating festivals, was a special assembly on Dusshera, presented by the energetic students of class VII-Newton on 23rd October 2023. The students presented special theme talk, drama and told the importance of the day. Dussehra signifies the victory of Lord Rama over the demon Ravana, hence it symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. Children came dressed in ethnic clothes.

Podar International School celebrated the International Year of Millets as a momentous occasion that aims to raise awareness about the importance of millets in our daily lives and their significant impact on nutrition, sustainability, and food security. The theme for the International Year of Millets 2023 is “Harnessing the untapped potential of millets for food security, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture.”
The assembly presented by the students of grade III Newton was fabulous. Students emphasized different recipes made and used as food in our daily lives through the script. It aims at educating the students about integrating millet in our everyday diet and spreading awareness about the same.
An ice-breaking activity was conducted for the grades III to VIII. Students made various recipes by using millets like ragi laddu and corn bhel. It provided a platform for students, teachers, and parents to understand the importance of millet in our diets, agriculture, and environment.
The Principal, Neeraj Rai sir also talked about millets and appreciated the unprecedented enthusiasm of the students and the presentation that grabbed the attention of everyone present there.

World Mental Health Day (10 October) is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries. The theme for the year 2023 is "Mental health is a universal human right."
Podar International School, Shirur celebrated this day with full zeal and enthusiasm by conducting various activities for teachers and students. A special assembly was conducted by the students of class V including the prayer, followed by news, thought and basic information about World Mental Health Day.

Podar International School, Shirur celebrated ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ with great pomp and festivity in school premises.
The air was filled with excitement and devotion as our school welcomed Lord Ganesha with open arms. The festivities began with a grand procession to welcome Lord Ganesha. The rhythmic beats of the 'Lezim,' filled the air as students performed mesmerizing dances in honor of Lord Ganesha.
The Ganesh Chaturthi Pooja began with the chanting of Vedic mantras, setting the spiritual tone for the event. The Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay and Vice principal, Neeraj Rai sir performed the initial pooja. Each staff member as well as students had the opportunity to offer their personal prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha for wisdom, prosperity, and success.
The grand celebration of the 5-day Ganesh festival reached its meaningful conclusion with the immersion of eco-friendly Lord Ganesha idol. Drum beats and bells clanged vigorously to shouts of "Ganpati Bappa Morya" as the young colourfully clad devotees matched step. A beautiful tank was mounted for the immersion, setting the stage for a unique and responsible farewell to our beloved deity.
The school's leadership team, Council members and students joined together to bid a fond farewell to Bappa, took blessings and say goodbye to our lovely Bappa with heavy heart.
After a joyous celebration, we bid adieu to Lord Ganpati, requesting him to come back next year.

The theme of World Ozone Day 2023 is ''Montreal Protocol: Fixing the Ozone Layer and Reducing Climate Change.''
A special assembly was conducted by the students of classes V comprised of the prayer, followed by news, thought, pledge, and short script on the same.
A script presented by them was informative. A student who played the role of teacher explained the value, importance, causes of degradation and it's effect on human body through this script.
The Ozone layer protests us from harmful UV rays, and it is our responsibility to preserve this layer from the utmost chemical damage, informed by Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay.

Podar International School Shirur celebrated specially designed two days event as Celebrating Kabir where Sant Kabir was introduced to the students through the various dohas.
In these two days event, different class wise activities were conducted. Grade I and II learnt the importance of prayer. Grade III and IV came to know some values that they can apply in their real life situation.
Short skirt and Role play based on the value was depicted by the students of grade V and VI. Students of grade VI and VII were engaged in meaningful discussions to draw parallels between the social issues Kabir addressed and those we face in contemporary society.
Sant Kabir was one of the greatest Indian poet, philosopher, Humanitarian. He wrote dohe which was based around punctuality, humanity, knowledge, Love, Faith in one self.

Our primary class students special grade I and II came dressed as Radha Krishna's Divine Circle, adding a touch of magic to the day. The little ones added a traditional touch to the entire celebrations when they danced on the beat of Janmashtami song and performed a choir dedicated to Lord Krishna.
A special assembly of grade VIII students grabbed the attention of all the students. In the spiritual ambience of Radha and Krishna, our students immersed themselves in devotional singing and chanting creating an atmosphere of pure devotion.

Different ingredients like chopped dry fruits, ground nut powder, dates, jaggery powder any many other things added by the students enlarge the taste. The active participation reflected through their happy faces.

To celebrate the anniversary of Indian independence, Deccan Education Society English Medium School, Samarth Seva Mandal Shirur, Aviskar Social and Educational Foundation Shirur and Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad Branch Shirur organized an Inter-School Choir Singing Competition organized at Deccan School, Baburao Nagar Shirur on 11th August, 2023.
There was a tough fight among sixteen participating schools. The students of Podar International School, Shirur emerged as true champions bagging Second Position in this competition.
Former MLA Kakasaheb Palande, Police Inspector Sanjay Jagtap, President of Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad Shirur Nilesh Khabia attended the inauguration of the competition and facilitated the Podarites.

A meaningful educational field trip with the kids at Shopping Mall.
Students of grade I and II of Podar International School, Shirur were taken to Shopping mall, Reliance Mart as directed and guided by Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay as a part of an experiential field trip to supplement their learning process. Students learnt about the concept of departmentalization.
They were shown different sections of the supermarket (fresh fruits & vegetable section, grain section, toiletry section, meat/dairy/frozen food section, bakery, and canned goods, toys, etc.)
Teachers explained them how things are bought, billed and paid for. This also induced in them the feeling of responsibility. Some students shared their shopping experience which they had had with their parents in the same supermarket.
On the whole, it was a fun-filled learning experience for each child.

On the day when ‘Open house’ is conducted, parents can talk to the teachers, get to know what is being taught in the class, the teaching methodology being used, changes being made to the existing curriculum. We Podar International School, Shirur successfully conducted PT-1 Open House for grade I to X on 5th August, 2023. Parents interacted with teachers about their wards' progress, performance in the class, active participation in classroom activities and many other things.

To celebrate the joy of reading books and to inculcate reading habits among the students Podar International School, Shirur organised Scholastic Book Fair on 5th August 2023. It included a diverse selection of books from several categories to motivate the readers.
The whole area was a glimpse of edufair. The books stalls were decorated to the core. Parents of grade I and II were invited to visit the book fair. They explored all the varied genres of books.
Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay encouraged the students to become avid readers and to explore these treasure houses of deep knowledge.

Amidst great enthusiasm and pride, we witnessed the grand Investiture Ceremony at Podar International School, Shirur. The event was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Jagtap (SI) and Mr. Jagdish Pawar (PSI) whose presence added immense charm to the occasion.
The ceremony commenced with the Lighting of the auspicious Lamp of Knowledge followed by warm verbal welcomes, an introduction of the day's proceedings. Our distinguished guest was then felicitated, acknowledging their valuable contributions to education.
Next, we saw the council members marching with pride and taking their oaths of responsibility, promising to lead by example. The newly elected student council members pledged to work earnestly and uphold the honour and glory of the school while receiving their prestigious badge and sash from the Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Jagtap and Mr. Jagdish Pawar.
It was a proud moment for all the Parents to witness their children being invested with great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders. The Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Jagtap sir motivated students by saying that Leaders are the backbones of the nation. Therefore, it is our responsibility to build good leaders. It is the best intiative taken by the school to give administration to the students. Leaders are not born, they are made. I personally believed that it is not virtual leadership, it's actual readership because you are selected as leaders from the students.
You can lead the family and nation.
Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay motivated the children to keep moving forward despite all the obstacles and challenges that life throws in front of us. She said that being a leader is a vital role and that the new Student Council would have ample responsibilities to shoulder.
With the flags held high and heads standing tall, the ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

The election for the Students’ Council was held at Podar International School, Shirur on 26 July 2023. The objective of appointing the Student’ Council is to provide a platform to the students to develop leadership qualities by organizing and carrying out school activities, help others to solve their problems as a leader.
It was the day the whole school was waiting irrespective of the hierarchy. Digital voting booths were set up by the Election committee. Grade V to X were called one after the other. The young voters responsibly and gleefully cast their votes and proudly displayed the ink smeared finger and announced themselves as the proud citizens of the PIS community.
The entire election process helped the students to adopt 21st-century skills like collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and decision-making.
Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay made students understand the actual election process, the voting right and the need of election after regular intervals through her speech.
In Kargil Vijay Diwas , a day to remember the gallant efforts and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated all across the country on 26th July every year. The day commemorates the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the Kargil war fought against Pakistan in 1999.
At Podar International School Shirur, we marked this momentous occasion with a special assembly, filled with patriotism and a dance performance that resonated with the spirit of the day.
During the school assembly, Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay addressed the students to emphasize the qualities of patriotism, dedication, and selflessness of Indian Armed Forces during the war.
The celebration ended with the school choir singing patriotic songs, instilling a pristine love and respect for our nation.

When candidates actively campaign, they make their members aware that the election is truly a contest in which they should participate. More information on the election, including candidate information, developmental plans or agenda of the candidates and their platforms can inspire members to cast their ballots.
The students of Podar International School, Shirur appeared with great zeal for School Council Election campaigning.
They filled the nomination for various posts of Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain, Vice- sport captain, House Captain, Discipline Captain.
Each one campaigned enthusiastically. Nominated candidates were given three minutes to present their views on why they should be elected for the posts they had stood for.
The campaigning ended with the speech given by Respected Principal ma'am, Dr. Lata Upadhyay, informing students the importance of election in society, selection of right candidates, avoid any types of malpractices, and value of a vote in election.
To give the students a break from the monotony of the classroom teaching, Podar International School, Shirur arranged "A Trip Around The School.
The purpose of this activity was for the students to learn and familiarise themselves with the different places in the school.
The students enjoyed thoroughly by visiting Computer Lab, Science Lab, Mathematics Department, Library, Reception Area, Administration Office. They were flabbergasted with sports activities conducted by sports teacher.
The most interactive place they visited was the Principal ma'am's office. Our students opened up and had many discussions with ma'am. Respected Principal mam, Lata Upadhyay illustrated all questions and quires asked by students. The students got a charge out of conversation with principal ma'am.
The trip became an enlightening and pleasant experience for them. The visit concluded with the students sharing their observations through the school trip and discussing their experiences with one another.

Teacher training programme equips teacher with techniques and modern pedagogy strategies that help them to better connect with, manage, and teach students in a manner which ensures all the students are learning and benefiting.
Podar Innovative Center had organised a Teacher's Training Programme on "Implementing and Delivering Outstanding Lesson". It was conducted on 15th July at Podar International School, Shirur.
The Programme was led by Resource person, Mr. Sudhanshu S. Nayak sir. It was inaugurated with Saraswati Vandana and lighting the lamp followed by icebreaking session.
Respected sir emphasized on Lesson Opening, Teaching Methodology, Correct Content, Learning Connected and Written work. Noon session was introduced by micro- teaching and discussion. Voice modulation plays a great role in teaching. It is also an effective way to grab the attention of the students. The session ended with a motivational video and positive feedback given by the respected Principal ma'am Dr. Lata Upadhyay as well as teachers.

Paper Bag Competition was held at Podar International School, Shirur at 12th July, 2023.
The ardent enrolment, wholeheartedly participation of students display their interest for this competition. Students from various grades earnestly participated in the competition. They decorated bags using old newspaper, sketch pens, mirror glitters, waste material with great joy showing their creativity.
The purpose of this activity was:
1. Reducing plastic waste.
2. Inspiring others to make and use eco-friendly bags.
3. Save the nature.
4. Reuse and recycle.
Each of the bags made by the students was a treat to our eyes. Respected Principal, Dr. Lata Upadhyay appreciated students for their amazing creativity and imagination.
Jumpstart in Integrated English offers kids a great opportunity to learn and improve English communication skills. Throughout the event, various kinds of group activities are conducted which pallows the students to communicate and socialize with peers. Students’ imagination and creativity gets developed along with their vocabulary and communication.
Students of Podar International School, Shirur enjoyed, jumped and started the I.E. Event ‘Young Entrepreneurs’. The school witnessed different grade students performing different activities all at a time.
There were grade I and II students showcased their thoughts on their most and least favorite Business by signing and writing their names on ‘Pick a Business’. While Grade III and IV students prepared a big wish list of their interesting items to be purchased from the Super mart.
Grade V and VI students thought beyond the box and showed their imagination by making use of one single thing in different ways.
Grade VII suggested the importance of Name and its meaning by performing the activity on ‘What’s in a name?’ while grade VIII students also emphasized on their wish of starting their business through the activity My business ideas.
Students enchantingly depicted their interest in the activities because of well planned guidelines by Respected Principal, Dr. Lata Upadhyay. Students’ enthusiastic participation is the sign of this successful event.
The jumpstart event is an activity carried out at the start of the Thematic Unit. All the activities immerse the students in the theme without directly telling them what it is all about. It also provides a common platform so that every student has an experience to draw from as he /she progresses through the unit.
Students of Podar International School, Shirur Grade: 1 enthusiastically participated in the 'Circle Time Activity' where each of them answered one question about themselves with the passing of the soft toy and ball.
The concept Quest provides the students with an opportunity to record everything they know about the thematic Unit. It empowers learners to realize that they already know many things and provides a base which can be used throughout the unit to make connections.

PTA meeting was conducted for grade I to X parents. They showed their presence enthusiastically. The meeting was held under the guidance of Hon. Principal, Dr. Lata Upadhyaya ma'am. The selection process of PTA was done smoothly. The principal ma'am congratulated newly elected members by offering bouquet.
The aims and objectives of Parent Teacher Association are:
- PTA helps smooth functioning of the school with the help of parents.
- It informs the school about parents queries and suggest suitable changes for the betterment of school.
- It works as a common bridge between parents and school.

Guru Purnima Day celebration is a memorable event that strengthens the bond between students and teachers while highlighting the importance of values and the role of Gurus in shaping the future generation.
Whatever is not obtained from the Guru, cannot be obtained from elsewhere with the grace of the Guru one indeed gets everything.
On the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, a pious celebration was organised at Podar International School, Shirur. From offering prayer to goddess Saraswati to paying respects to the Principal and teachers, students of grade V left no stone unturned in creating a spiritual yet enchanting atmosphere in the school.
The students of grade Xth overwhelmingly expressed their views on the welcoming changes made in the school by respected Principal ma'am, Dr.Lata Upadhyay.
A beautiful mythological drama depicting the importance of guru in our life was awesomely performed by our students who disguised themselves as Eklavya and Dronacharya.

Podar International School, Shirur has formed ICC i.e, Internal Complaint Committee under which the protection of the rights of Women is taken care of and also women are given equal respect and responsibilities as that of men and same has been included as same in the HR Policy.
The committee saw Adv. Bhagyashree Sunil Bora, Ms. Ashwini Balasaheb Kardile from NGO along with the Principal Dr. Lata Upadhyay and coordinator Ms. Swati Mamidanna as the foremost members and all the lady teachers as members. Conducting the meetings regularly regarding the agenda of the committee was the most talked point of the meeting.

In celebration of this special day, our students of grade V of Podar International School, Shirur took initiative to visit doctors in our locality. They expressed heartfelt gratitude for their tireless efforts and presented sapling as a token of love to honour their invaluable service.

Varkari is a religious movement within the bhakti spiritual tradition of Hinduism. Every year, Varkari walk hundreds of miles to the holy town of pandharpur. During the entire journey, continuous chanting of the Lord's name (Nam Japa), singing of holy songs (abhang).
With the same zeal our students at Podar International School, Shirur enjoyed the festive celebration of the ASHADHI EKADASHI. The entire school campus reverberated with the chanting of "Vitthal-Vitthal, Jai Hari Vitthal".
A well decorated palki was the attraction of this programme. Students performed dance on the song Gajar maulicha and sang a Bhajan- Vitthal-Vitthal gajari.
All the students in their ethnic attire offered prayers to Lord Vitthala.
On this occasion, a dazzling procession was also organized to give students exposure of Pandharpur Vari.
Through this celebration, students became aware of spirituality, divinity and selflessness.

Podar International School, Shirur celebrated International Olympic day on 23rd June 2023. The programme was led by grade VIII students. They performed a role play of Indian athletes, and gave some basic information about their sports. The celebration was an initiative to encourage every student to participate in different types of games and to raise awareness of variety of sports.
Hon. Principal, Dr. Lata Upadhyaya talked on the theme of International Olympic Day that is - "Let's Move". Ma'am also suggested students should engage in sports so that you can stay active and fit.

An energetic yoga session was conducted at Podar International School, Shirur. The programme started with a welcome song. The students of grade I to X participated in the session. It was led by Trainer Dr. Sri Rajendra Varpe sir. Different yoga poses were performed such as tadasana, natarajasana, ardha chandrasana, vajrasana, pranayam, etc. P.E teachers, Mr. Pravin Patil sir also told students the benefits of these positions. Students of grade VI performed a dance through various yoga positions.

The creative extravaganza of skit presentations pervaded the unique message of importance of Indian culture through Prabhu Ram and Seeta mai's welcome in Ayodhya. All the participants rocked the show with the blend of cosmic tune and divine vision. The spirit of Diwali came alive with a prosperous and divine prospective after viewing the spectacular dance presentations.
Respected Principal ma’am, Minal Vaidya highlighted the significance of Diwali and related festivals to the students and teachers. In her words of wisdom, she motivated the students to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali.

Podar International School, Shirur celebrated a special assembly on October 10 which is marked as World Mental Health Day. The assembly was conducted by Terra house students with the main objective, to raise mental health awareness among the students of our school. Students have given information on World Mental Health Day and Air Force Day and also presented a skit focusing upon depression and anxiety and how to overcome it. School counsellor told many ways to out of the depression and anxiety.
Assembly was concluded with Principal Minal Vaidya madam's guidance. She said that at a time our daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyone has to deal with varying levels of stress. When you feel like your stress levels have reached their peak, it might be time to speak with our family members, teachers and friends. Physical health and mental health both are essential now a days. One do not hesitate to seek help from Counselor.
All teachers were dressed up in green colour clothes to support the theme.
Assembly was enough to create awareness among the students of our school.
Highlighting the significance of celebrating festivals, a special assembly on Dussehra, the festival that resonates with the victory of good over evil was presented by the students of Terra house in Podar International School #Shirur on 6 October.
The assembly began with the recitation of prayer followed by a thought highlighting that every evil can be terminated with goodness and goodwill, which always leads to peace and prosperity.
A soul stirring bhajan was presented and acted by the students. Students not only enjoyed listening to the story behind the festival but at the same time had a great time through a pleasant skit , dressing up in the lovely attire of Rama and Ravana and other characters of Ramayana.
Principal Minal Vaidya Ma'am guided students about the importance of Dussehra as it is marked as victory over evil, this festival destroys negativity and emerges with positivity and also asked various questions to students about the celebration of the festival. She also appealed to students to keep the safe and clean environment as this is the main concern while celebrating various festivals.
Podar International School #Shirur has conducted a special assembly on the occasion of the birth anniversary of two legends, Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism. Students articulated Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri's ideology and contributions towards Indian independence skillfully through various songs, thoughts and talks. The students displayed their beautiful sketches of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri and explained the principles for an ideal life laid down by them.
It is extremely important for our future generations to understand and imbibe values like truth, non-violence, harmony, morality and simplicity which will inspire them to adapt in these challenging times.
To commemorate the occasion children enacted and dressed as one of the leaders. They shared facts about the great leaders and their contribution towards freedom struggle and national integration.

Podar International School, #Shirur organized a culminating event "Sci-Hi Museum" under the theme 'Footprint in Time', An Archaeological Expedition. This event was organized by the students of grades I to X and the staff members. Students worked enthusiastically and made models, monuments, ornaments, artefacts, major discoveries and inventions, historical figures, tools, selfie corners, games stalls etc. Today's chief guests Mr. Munish Sharma, Principal of PIS wagholi has inaugurated the event. The event has focused on presenting various ancient civilizations of different countries i e. Egypt, Rome, Greece etc., groceries, food, ornaments, monuments with a scientific element in it and the history behind it. Warli paintings, Egyptian scripts, God and goddesses of ancient history and sports played at that time have been presented by the students in very pleasant ways. The event helped students to learn about archaeology and examine historical facts in the most interesting ways. Principal Minal Vaidya ma'am appreciated participants for their active participation. Parents have responded overwhelmingly and praised the students a lot.

As part of the celebration of Joy of Giving event, students from classes 7th and 8th presented a street play on the theme Save Planet Earth , with a number of charts containing information about saving Earth Planet and avoiding waste, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

International Literacy Day depicts the importance of literacy throughout the globe and urges the society to provide education of purpose to the people globally, irrespective of their class, region, religion and race.
A special assembly on International Literacy Day was conducted in Podar International School, #Shirur on September 8, 2022 by the students of Ventus House from classes VII and IX.
It was highlighted through the assembly that Literacy is a matter of dignity and human rights, as students spoke on the celebration of 'World Literacy Day' and presented information, dance and songs to bring the point that literacy is the foundation of learning. Anushka Sharma has presented a fabulous dance on Onam festival. Ganesh Anant Chaturdashi information has been shared by students in the assembly.
An energetic skit has been presented where the importance of literacy was stated in curbing poverty, establishing gender impartiality along with promising a bright future.
Bankat Shinde Sir, Senior Coordinator, expressed his views on the importance of International Literacy Day and appealed to students to promote the significance of literacy in their day to day life.

The assembly began with welcome dance stating the importance of ‘Teacher’ in our lives, followed by the thought and talk highlighting the contribution of teachers in a student’s life. Students have organised a well planned teachers felicitation ceremony with flowers and greeting cards. Principal ma'am gifted a gift to all teachers as a token of respect.The assembly came to an end with a beautiful message which highlighted the relationship of students and teachers who are considered to be the second parent to students. They mould their life with love, affection, dedication and hardwork. All the teachers enjoyed the company of their fellow teachers, taking pride in their role as teachers who transform lives and create the future of their students.
The National Sports Day of India was celebrated in Podar International School, #Shirur in Tribute to the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand today i.e. 29th August. The students were told about the importance of ‘Sports’ and the relevance of National Sports Day during the Assembly.
The day marks the birth anniversary of hockey wizard, Major Dhyan Chand. He was born on 29th August, 1905 at Prayagraj. In the year 1926, he was selected for the Indian Hockey Team for the tour of New Zealand & won many medals for our country.
On this occasion, many students from school participated in various sports activities with great enthusiasm and zeal. The participants had fun while indulging in different activities like dance, various game presentation etc . The children learnt a lot about true sportsmanship and the value of playing games.
Our school Principal Minal Vaidya ma'am guided the students about Major Dhyanchand and she also briefed the importance of sports in our life.

A special assembly was conducted in Podar International School, #Shirur by class X on 19th August, 2022 on the occasion of Janamashtami, a festival which commemorates the earthly arrival of Lord Krishna.
The assembly began with the recitation of some popular shlokas from the Bhagawad Gita by the students in English. This was followed by the story of the birth of Krishna and how He became the child of Vasudev and Yashoda through an enactment.
A melodious bhajan , which creates devotional feelings in the occasion sung by the choir, added solemnity to the occasion.
Students spoke on how Janamsahtami or Gokulashtami is celebrated as ‘Dahi Handi’ in Maharashtra.
The students who were dressed as devotees, especially Jumbo kids students were sat in line on stage, these students dressed as Krishna and Radha, gopis, played an important part in the Programme by being present on the stage.
Class X students performed a very energetic dance which has spread an atmosphere full of enthusiasm.This was a show-stealer performance which added enormous energy on the occasion.
Class X students energetically enacted the scene with a human pyramid! Shreyansh broke the earthen pot. The audience was also told about how the festival is celebrated with pomp and gaiety all over India.
The assembly concluded with a message from Principal Minal Vaidya ma'am on the significance of Janamashtami as a festival which encourages goodwill and togetherness and she also added the importance of true friendship.
Podar International School, #Shirur celebrated Sanskrit Day on 10th August with great zeal and enthusiasm. ‘Sanskirt Diwas’ is celebrated every year in the month of ‘Shravana’ to pay respect to the ancient language, the mother of not only our Indian languages, but also a few International ones. With the theme for the assembly Vishwashanti , the students of Sanskrit presented an impressive assembly. All the segments of the assembly were delivered in Sanskrit with absolute confidence. It was pure delight to hear the young students speak in sanskrit with a perect diction.
The high of the assembly was a great dance performance and the importance of Sanskrit language, Sanskrit is the greatest treasure India possess, it is our country’s pride, with so many attributes; a language of our ancient texts, a language where one can convey with absolute brevity and the language of the computers too! The students felt proud that they were pursuing the subject and left them with a feeling, that it was a legacy handed down to us from centuries.

Let’s salute the Nation on this auspicious day Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
The 76th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at Podar International School, #Shirur. The school decorated with tricolor saffron, white and green balloons and flags welcomed the eyes of all to the function. The students were in proper school uniform.
The ceremony started at 7:30 AM in the school open ground with large crowd of staff, students and parents.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our Nation, Principal of our School, Minal Vaidya ma'am and Chief guest Mr. Santosh Dhotre sir unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom.
Pratik Wajage, a student of Std.10 took us down the memory lane when he expressed himself through a speech delivered by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru which has an important role in Indian independence.
The students of Choir group in their melodious voices sang the Patriotic song- that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the Mother Land.
House wise patriotic songs and enactments were performed by our students with zeal and enthusiasm.
Prize Distribution took place to acknowledge those students and teachers who bought laurels for themselves and the school in both scholastic and non-scholastic areas.
Students of class 10, enlightened everyone with their comparing of the program. Chief guest Mr. Santosh Dhotre sir and Principal Minal Vaidya ma'am, both the speakers inspired the students to follow the ideals of the great people. They advised the students to become ideal citizens of the country.
Taking Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav into consideration, the student of Choir presented the patriotic song.
The program culminated with Vote of Thanks. At the end sweets were distributed to the students. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and Unity in Diversity.
Podar International School, #Shirur celebrated World Youth Day in the school as a special assembly on August 12th , 2022 by the students of class VIII N.
The assembly began with a school prayer. The students then enriched us with the life story of a young archeologist Arsh Ali through an interview, which included information about his efforts he had put in to empower the youth, throughout India and abroad.
A small skit was enacted to show the power of youth. It was based on the significance of youth in the development of the nation. The students also enlightened their fellow- mates with some facts about the different youth organizations across the Nation. The Principal Minal Vaidya made the students aware of the importance of the youth in building the Nation through her message. The programme surely elevated the spirit of our youth.
International Tiger Day Assembly has been conducted in Podar International School, #Shirur on 29th July by Terra House students to promote the protection of the natural habitat of the tiger and to increase the awareness about the conservation of the tiger.
‘Saving Tiger is not only our duty but also our responsibility. We should know that if nature is responsible for our existence, we must take responsibility for its existence too.’
Students of Terra House were asked to make face-masks on the occasion of the International Tiger day.
Students delivered information about Tiger Day and some facts about Tigers, which gave detail information about Tiger Day celebration.
Last but not the least, a skit was performed based on the theme of tigers presented. On the whole, this assembly was very informative and enjoyable at the same time.The closure speech by our Respected Principal Minal Vaidya Ma'am comprised of how these magnificent creatures will be on the verge of extinction if we don’t join hands to save them. She made our students aware about the importance of conservation of all animal species.
Podar International School,#Shirur has conducted a special assembly today on Kargil Vijay Diwas which is celebrated on July 26. Students of Terra House conducted a special assembly to commemorate and celebrate the sincere and unmatchable efforts of the Indian Army in the form of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The assembly comprised of an anecdote stating the significance of the crucial day, this small yet powerful information charged up the entire audience with a feeling of pride and nationalism. The celebrations had the much-awaited performances of our students. The main highlights were the skit, song and dance performance. Each performance acknowledged the efforts and gallantry of our Armed Forces. The young students were awestruck to go in the depths of the history associated with the commemoration. The closure speech by our Respected Principal Minal Vaidya Ma'am comprised of paying homage to the martyrs of this war and saluting them for an everlasting debt to our families.
Guru is an aspiration, guru is an inspiration, guru is everything a student can wish for. Guru Purnima is a tradition dedicated to all the spiritual and academic Gurus, who are evolved or enlightened humans and always ready to share their wisdom. On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Podar International School, #Shirur students of class VII and VIII have presented a special assembly with zest and enthusiasm. At the start of the assembly they have focused on respecting elders and paying special reverence to their teachers, the one who carries immense importance in students life. The learners paid tribute to their facilitators by dedicating motivational songs and performing dance, they sang a song and presented a special skit showing the importance of Gurus. Our Principal Minal Vaidya ma'am has addressed the students and reinforced the teachings of their Gurus and told them how teachers act as an extension with hard work for laying a healthy foundation towards building just and humanitarian future citizens. Mr. Rohit Khomane sir said an oath of being respectful towards teachers and all elders and students followed him.
Podar International School, #Shirur has organised the workshop on the Importance of Nutrition and Diet in our school for our students and teachers. Dr. Priyanka Gandhi ma'am was there to guide our students as a resource person. Principal Minal Vaidya ma'am welcomed her by offering welcome card as a token of love. This workshop focused on the essentials of eating well. Furthermore Dr. Priyanka Gandhi ma'am guided our students how to calculate their own unique energy needs, and use our meal planning tools to customize meals and snacks that maximize your nutrition and satisfaction.
She also focused upon the building our nutrition foundation by addressing the less nutritious foods that may tempt you throughout the day, even when you’re not hungry. She further guided us to prioritize our favorite foods with our thoughtful eating strategies, and shifted the balance of eating for nutrition and pleasure in our favor.
This workshop is also helpful for building on basic meal planning principles by addressing specific foods and strategies for maximizing nutrition and your budget. The workshop was interactive enough and students were active throughout the session.

Podar International School, #Shirur has celebrated Aashadi Ekadashi in Special Assembly on 9th July 2022 , Saturday morning.
Students presented Palkhi, Lezim dance, Warkari Pawla and Dance. Inculcating the values and ideals is the prominent job being played by the Aqua house students from class 1st to 10th. One such celebration occurred in the premises of the school on the occasion of “Ashadi Ekadashi”.
With great fun and joy , children rose up with flying colors to take part in ‘ Dindi’ of great Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, Saint Tukaram Maharaj, Saint Namdeo Maharaj, Saint Muktabai, Saint Janabai and Saint Choka Mela which once again reminded them of great Maharashtrian Culture and tradition. Folk song in the form of Bhajan sung during ‘Dindi’ have enchanted the premises with peace , harmony and tranquility. Students of Aqua house also presented the thoughts of Pasaydan through Drama. Principal Minal Vaidya ma'am expressed her thoughts on Maharashtrian culture and Ashadi Wari. At the end of the assembly Vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Vijay Garud sir, house master of Aqua house.
A true leader is the one who dares to stand up in front of its own people and lead them with honesty & integrity towards a higher purpose. And today after a much awaited time, new leaders are born who accept new challenges which are bestowed upon them and pledge to perform their duties to the best of their abilities. There is no doubt that they truly deserve the respect and love of all of us.
