Felicitation of Ayush Jalan
It was a proud moment for PIS-CBSE, Powai when one of its students’ Master Ayush Jalan of Grade VII (afternoon shift) bagged the first place in the “Think and Learn challenge 2015-16” organised by Times NIE .This Examination was taken by more than One lakh students from around 250 schools in Mumbai. Ayush became the city topper winning one lakh cash prize, a tablet, Certificate of Excellence and a recharge voucher from BYJU’s.
The Times Group felicitated him in a ceremony held in the school on 25th April, 2016. Ms Monica Nathani, Head Times NIE and Ms Deepshobha Pillai, Manager Times NIE had been present to witness the event. Ayush’s parents Mr. Balkishan Jalan and Mrs. Vela Jalan and his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Sarawgi were invited by the school for the felicitation ceremony. The Principal, Vice-Principals, teachers of the middle school and the students of Grade VIII were amongst others present.
Principal Ms. Rachna Laxminarayanan, while addressing the gathering spoke of how proud the school was to have Ayush as a student. She stressed on more students participating in these kind of tests as it enriches the mind by exposing the students to application based questions in mathematics and science. She also said that ‘learning’ should be emphasized in school and at home rather than on scoring high marks every time. Ayush, when asked to speak of his experience, said it was not very difficult to crack the exam and encouraged his classmates to participate in the coming year.
All at PIS-CBSE, Powai heartily congratulate Ayush Jalan on his achievement. May he gather many more accolades and have a bright future.
