21st June 2019 Inauguration of PIS Sangli’s 10th Foundation Year “DASHAKOTSAV”
On 21st June 2019 on the occasion of “World Music Day” Podar International School had organised a harmonious Musical performance for students at Bhave Natya Mandir in Sangli City. Students from 15 different schools of Sangli city had participated. This was an auspicious day for PIS, Sangli as it inaugurated its Tenth Foundation year's programme and marked the beginning of the Dashakotsav of the school. . The programme had an imminent presence of the symbols of rhythmic and melodious music with Pandit Manmohan Kumbhare and Ustaad Rafiq Hussain Nadhaf's presence as the chief guests.

Students represented Podar International School & Jr.College Sangli in Harvard Model United Nations India held by HICC, at Hyderabad.
This year in HMUN India 2019, our delegates represented countries like- Russian Federation, Uganda, Slovenia, Palau and Equatorial Guinea.30 students of Grade VIII and XI participated in different General Assembly committees like Disarmament and International Security Committee, Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee, Legal Committee, Special Political and Decolonization Committee and Non- General Assembly Committees like the UN Security Council, Press Corps and Economic and Social Council. Our delegates also participated in HMUN India’s Got Talent,where Ms. Aryaa Chitale of Grade IX presented classical dance and Ms. Khushi of Grade VIII got opportunity to present singing talent. As a part of Act2Impact, our 10 students took up community and social welfare projects under Sustainable Development Goals and Master Aditya Arwade (Project- Rain water harvesting) and Ms. Niharika Sonalkar (Project- Quality Education) were among finalist of Act2Impact projects. Two delegates Ms. Riya Kulkarni and Ms. Araya Chitale of Grade IX, were selected for Resolve and were appreciated for their efforts in completing all assignments with good content and time.

Master. Abhinesh Patil from Grade VIII had won the stand up comedy competition, conducted by the Maharashtra State directorate general (cultural dept.) In memory and name of P.L. Deshpande.
He received a certificate and a cash prize of Rs.50000/-. Total 72 participants from the 36 centres all over Maharashtra had participated in the grand finale.
P.L.Deshpande Academy, Maharashtra State cultural department had organised the program and it was broadcasted on Sony Marathi channel.
11th & 12th October 2019 - STATE LEVEL PODAR MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE
The second edition of State Level Podar Model United Nations Conference (PMUN-2019) was held on 11th & 12th October 2019, with great zeal and enthusiasm at Hotel New Pride at Sangli City with 180 delegates from 18 Podar schools all across Maharashtra. Our Students (Secretariat) have made us feel proud with their committed and passionate efforts to make this conference successful. This year’s edition was characterized by the highest academic level, a great enthusiasm and fantastic involvement by the participants. Also, the level of interaction amongst the various simulated Councils was extremely high and it triggered greater networking.
20th October 2019 - First Alumni Meet
PIS Sangli’s first Alumni Meet for pass out students was held on 20th Oct 2019. Last 5 years 10th and 12th passed out batch students were part of the meet. Most of the students attended the meet with great enthusiasm and sense of belongingness.
7th & 8th November Annual Day 2019 Programs.
Podar International School, Sangli celebrated 10th Annual Day Programs with great zeal on 7th & 8th Nov.2019.The talented students presented mesmerizing cultural events.
The theme for Annual Day for Primary Grades was “Toys Story” through the story ten values were reflected, Secondary Grades was ‘Kab Tak Rokoge’ which was presented meticulously by students and given the message that ‘Look at Problems as Opportunities, Not Challenges’.
The Chief Guest and Guest of honor were visibly impressed by the impeccable performance showcased by the students across different grades.
15th to 17th November - 2019 Oxford Global MUN conference
PIS Sangli students representing school first time at Oxford Global MUN conference to be held from 15th to 17th November -2019 at United Kingdom.
Podar International School and Junior College, Sangli has been providing national and international platforms to its students to represent themselves as Diplomats of various countries in the Model United Nations conferences. This year a team of 14 delegates from Grade VIII to XI will represent the school in Oxford Global MUN Conference-2019 to be held at Oxford University, Oxford, UK from 15-17 th of November, 2019. The Delegates are representing various developed countries like China, France which are the permanent members of the UN to the underdeveloped countries like Ghana and Congo. Delegates will be the part of intense discussions in their committee sessions for 19 hours over three days of conference. Along with conference, the delegates will get opportunity to interact with students of Oxford University and will have a guided tour of campus to understand the life of students in esteemed campus of Oxford University.
