Christmas, the festival that commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ was celebrated with gaiety and fervor at Podar International School, Gangapur. In the presence of the beloved Santa Claus, the week-long celebration saw an array of activities performed by both students and teachers.
The tiny tots of class 1 and 2 dressed up as Christmas tree and danced to the song 'I am the happiest Christmas tree'. Class 3,4& 5 graders danced to the tune of 'Jingle Bells'. Students of class 6,7 & 8 chose the song 'We wish you a Merry Christmas' to display their dancing skills.
Under the guidance of music teacher Mr. Sudhir Sonawane, melodious carols were sung by the students. Learners were delighted to see a splendid dance performance by their teachers. On this festive occasion, they decided to express their joy through a Bollywood song- which urged everyone to live their lives to the fullest.
Impressed by all the wonderful performances, Principal Moumita Choudhury appreciated the efforts of the students. She wished merry Christmas and greeted everyone a happy, healthy and a very prosperous new year.
The tumultuous year 2021 culminated with the joyous celebration and good wishes. The celebration certainly uplifted the spirits of the students and infused a sense of renewed hope and optimism in them.
Physical school begins after lockdown and virtual schooling on 4th October 2021 and 5th standard onwards students arrived school after almost one year and seven months.
Students were welcome in special assembly, dedicated to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri (Second Prime Minister of India), Principal Moumita Choudhury addressed the assembly and welcomed all the 20 students who were physically present and also invited the other students to be physically present to school, who were attending the assembly virtually.
Class teachers welcomed the students with welcome cards, smilie cards students were very happy to be back to the campus and be in their new classrooms. Many new admission students were first time physically present in the school campus; they were delighted to meet their new friends in the beautiful school campus.

As we know, Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival celebrated with much fervour across India. It is important to remember that Lokmanya Tilak was the architect of this mass celebration. It was his effort to foster the spirit of nationalism by bringing communities together on the occasion of the Ganesh festival during the struggle for independence.
